About ยท The Barnett
A hundred years on Washington Avenue. It still stops people when they walk in.
Wedding and event venue at 3207 Washington Blvd, Grand Center Arts District, St. Louis.

The building
Standing tall on Washington Avenue for over a century.
Built in 1921 as the headquarters for the Central States Life Insurance Company, The Barnett was designed by architect Tom P. Barnett of Barnett, Haynes & Barnett, one of St. Louis’s most prominent firms of the era and the architects behind the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis.
The Spanish Baroque design, with ornate terra cotta, a bell tower, a Conquistador stained-glass window, and twin curved staircases soaring to 45 feet, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and preserved through a multi-million dollar renovation.
Today it operates as a full-service event venue. The main hall seats 180 for dinner, opens to 335 for a reception, and the building handles the rest.
